7 Days Tanzania Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro - Serengeti Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kilimanjaro – Arusha
Arrive Kilimanjaro airport ex KL flight, clear customs and immigration formalities, met by our representative and transfer to Arusha town for dinner and overnight at The Impala Hotel.
Day 2: Arusha – Manyara
After breakfast, drive towards Manyara Area and proceed with morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch at your lodge then continue with afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National park. This pretty little park, tucked into the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, is often used simply as a gentle introduction for safaris heading North, but Manyara can become a real live safari experience if you stop to overnight here. This is the classic area for safari, with spectacular volcanic scenery, the rift valley escarpment, immense featureless plains and the great migration. Day 3: Manyara – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, you will descend the walls of the great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National park for a morning game drive. Lake Manyara is famous for its abundant birdlife and the amazing tree climbing lions. We later drive ascending the Karatu Highlands onto Gibbs Farm reputable for its fresh and mouth washing delicacies. From here, we ascend the Ngorongoro Highlands to embark onto our lodge on the crater rim just before dusk for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa / Serena / Wildlife lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro
Just after breakfast, we descend into the crater floor for a half day crater tour. Ngorongoro Crater is a complete ecosystem and considered as the eight wonder of the world. Our drive will include searching for the rhino, elephants, hippos, cheetah, wildbeest, lions and plentiful of other predators and their prey. Ngorongoro is found in the “Land of the Giant Craters.” This caldera is 14 miles (22.5 km) across at its widest point. It is 2000 ft (610 m) deep. It grew to be this large by sinking of the caldera floor. The caldera floor is very level and holds a lake. Streams run down the caldera walls into the lake. Ngorongoro is full of pastureland of red and white clover. Over 75,000 wild animals live in this caldera., We return to our lodge for a delicious lunch before driving to a nearby maasai village where we will happily enjoy the maasai culture and livelihood. Day 5: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
After breakfast drive to Serengeti with a visit to the Olduvai Gorge . Olduvai Gorge which is considered as the origin of mankind; this is where the famous Mr & Mrs Leakey discovered the 1.75 million-year-old remains of Australopithecus boisei (‘Zinjanthropus’) and Homo habilis which suggest that our species first evolved in this area. We arrive at our lodge in Serengeti in time for lunch. During the mid hours of the afternoon, we depart for an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park before returning to our lodge just before dusk for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa / Serena / Wildlife Lodge
Day 6: Serengeti
After breakfast, we depart for a morning game drive in this magnificent national park. Our drive will include the search for leopards, lions, cheetah, hippos and many other animals that will be happy to welcome us to their kingdom. Apart from the rhinos, which have been decimated by poachers, and the hunting dogs, which are slowly declining, the Serengeti is alive and well. The wildebeest and buffalo populations have multiplied, benefitting the main predators – lion, cheetah, and hyena. Cheeky hyraxes and lizards play on the rocks and a profusion of birds – superb starlings, lilac-breasted rollers, barbets and ring-necked doves to name but a few – fill the air with their songs. Ostriches and secretary birds stalk the grass, while a family of warthog often scurry away. Out of the vast sea of grass also rise great granite outcrops, known as ‘kopjes’, which have their own range of vegetation and wildlife. We carry packed lunch in order to make the best of the day. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena / Sopa / Wildlife lodge.
Day 7: Serengeti – Sirare
Today we after an early breakfast, we depart for an early morning game drive which will allow us to see the animals especially the cats when active as we drive towards Sirare border with picnic lunches for dropp off where you will be met by our driver to continue with Kenya program.
